Defense: The State takes a "golden share" in LMB Aerospace

The French state has acquired a preferred share, known as a "golden share," in the defense company LMB Aerospace, recently purchased by an American group. This decision was formalized by a decree published in the Official Journal, aims to preserve France's strategic interests.

The Ministry of the Economy clarified that this specific action allows the State to retain oversight of certain major company decisions. In practical terms, the Ministry will be able to oppose policies deemed contrary to national interests.

A right of veto over certain decisions

According to the decree, the State is acquiring a share in LMB Aerospace from the holding company ASC3 LMB for the symbolic sum of one euro. The implementation of this decision has been entrusted to the State's Commissioner for Shareholdings.

Thanks to this mechanism, the French authorities now have a right of veto over sensitive decisions, particularly regarding the sale of assets, the transfer of technologies or strategic activities, in a sector considered essential for industrial and military sovereignty.
