Coinhouse received payment institution approval from the French Prudential Control and Resolution Authority (ACPR) on July 23. This authorization marks a significant milestone for the French platform specializing in digital assets. The ACPR validated this status after consulting with the Bank of France, in accordance with the provisions of Article L. 522-6 of the French Monetary and Financial Code.
Strengthened obligations towards customers
This new status imposes specific obligations on Coinhouse in its relationship with its customers. The company must establish a framework agreement for payment services with each customer, a document that must include a set of information defined by Article L. 314-12 of the French Monetary and Financial Code. This requirement aims to guarantee the transparency of the services offered and the protection of users.
The payment institution license allows Coinhouse to expand its range of financial services within a regulated framework. This recognition by the French supervisory authority strengthens the company's position in the digital asset market and opens up new business opportunities.
