This morning, the streets of Paris were filled with approximately 350 tractors protesting the economic and regulatory situation of the agricultural sector. The actions were led by the FNSEA and the Young Farmers, who are demanding swift and concrete measures from the government to support the industry.

The first vehicles began entering the capital shortly before 6 a.m., quickly forming long lines that headed towards the Quai d'Orsay, near the National Assembly. The arrival of the convoys was overseen by a large police presence to ensure the safety of the demonstrators and local residents.

The tractors, coming from various regions such as the North, Eure-et-Loir, Loiret and the greater Paris area, traveled along iconic routes like Avenue Foch and the Champs-Élysées. Some vehicles were equipped with trailers containing mattresses and sleeping bags, illustrating the farmers' determination to continue their mobilization.

Food sovereignty and working conditions are at the heart of the concerns

The protesters emphasize the need to protect food sovereignty and guarantee viable working conditions for farmers. Fabrice Moulin, a grain farmer in the Eure region, emphasized that "If we want to maintain food sovereignty, we must be allowed to do our job."adding that the increasing number of regulatory constraints makes professional life more and more difficult.

Baptiste Zado, a mixed crop and livestock farmer in the Yvelines region, stressed the importance of prioritizing French livestock farming in the face of international competition: "We need to secure the domestic market. We can no longer continue to tighten our belts."

This mobilization was organized by the FRSEA Grand Bassin Parisien, which represents the Île-de-France region and its neighboring departments. The goal is to put pressure on the authorities to obtain concrete measures to support the agricultural sector. Similar actions are underway in other regions, such as the dismantling of an agricultural blockade on the A64 motorway near Toulouse, where farmers had been mobilized for several weeks.
