Netflix has announced a partnership with FIFA to develop the official video game for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ending decades of collaboration between the international governing body and Electronic Arts. This new title will be available exclusively on Netflix Games and included in the subscription, at no extra cost to users.
A mobile game to reach a wider audience
Developed by Delphi Interactive, the game will accompany the World Cup, held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Designed primarily for smartphones and tablets, it will offer single-player and online multiplayer modes with simplified controls. The stated ambition is to make virtual football more accessible, appealing to both casual players and tournament fans.
For FIFA, this partnership opens a new phase after the end of its historic alliance with EA Sports, while Netflix sees it as a strategic opportunity to strengthen its gaming business and establish itself at the crossroads of video games and sports, capitalizing on the global audience of the World Cup.
