GTA VI will indeed be released on November 19th, in both physical and digital versions.

The release date for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) has been confirmed for November 19, 2026, parent company Take-Two Interactive announced during a quarterly investor call and in several recent press releases. This announcement puts an end to months of speculation following successive delays to the game, initially expected in the fall of 2025, then in May 2026, before Rockstar Games decided to postpone the release again to further refine development.

According to statements by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, this date was chosen to achieve the level of polish that the company and development teams deem necessary. When we set a date, we truly believe in it… if a game needs more polish to reach its best possible version, we give it more time.”he explained, emphasizing the group's confidence in this timetable.

The game will be available in both digital and physical versions.

Contrary to earlier rumors suggesting a digital-only release, Take-Two and Rockstar have confirmed that GTA 6 will be available both physically and digitally at launch. This confirmation puts an end to speculation that the physical edition might be delayed or limited.

Official announcements indicate that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions remain the primary platforms at launch, with a possible later deployment on PC, as has been the case for previous titles from the studio.

The marketing campaign will begin this summer.

Take-Two also confirmed that the marketing campaign for GTA 6 will begin this summer, marking the start of a promotional phase extending several months before release. This strategy will include the release of trailers, images, and other content designed to build hype around the most anticipated game of the decade.

As a reminder, Grand Theft Auto VI was first officially unveiled in December 2023, with an initial trailer that garnered hundreds of millions of viewers. Since then, the game's development has undergone several delays, the most recent initially setting a release date of May 26, 2026, before pushing it back to November 19, 2026. The teams justified these adjustments by their desire to deliver a high-quality experience, in line with the standards established by previous installments.

Rockstar and Take-Two have not yet released full details on pricing, special editions or the availability date of the PC versions, but the latest announcements confirm that GTA 6 will be released worldwide on November 19, 2026, with significant marketing support starting in the summer.
