In the final individual biathlon event of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, France's Océane Michelon won the gold medal in the women's 12,5km mass start, confirming an exceptional performance by the French team in the discipline. Michelon finished ahead of her compatriot Julia Simon, who took silver. Czech athlete Tereza Voborníková completed the podium, winning bronze.
Océane Michelon, 23, is establishing herself as a rising star in international biathlon. This victory in the women's mass start is her second gold medal at these Games.
This double victory reinforces the fantastic record for the French delegation, which has broken its historic record for medals in the Winter Games.
