Mosaic 75 5th edition interview with Smail Bouabdellah

It's the race for the teams of Mosaic 75, the big show that mixes humor, music and football for 5 years. The next edition will take place at the Folies Bergeres for the 2nd consecutive year, the 21 April 2025.

Smaïl Bouabdellah, Mohamed Miskakah, Nordine Kebir, Xavier Isaia, and Malick Sall are the key architects of the success of this unique show. Less than a month before the event, journalist Smaïl Bouabdellah spoke to Entrevue about the progress of this project, launched in the midst of Covid-19.

Thibaud Vézirian: This year, Naza will provide the music. Your 8 comedians scheduled on stage are certainly among the top 10 comedians currently enjoying the greatest success: Paul Mirabel, Redouane Bougheraba, Waly Dia, Jason Brokkers, Nordine Ganso, Emy B, Merwane Benlazar and Ghyslain Blique. Can you manage the whole troupe?
Smaïl Bouabdellah: What's always complicated is finding the right date so that artists from all these worlds are available at the same time. But then, it's great, they're people with good energy, who know each other, who cross paths often but furtively. There, they share longer moments and have a great time together, that's what we love.

In what Mosaic 75 has it become unique in its kind?
Smaïl Bouabdellah: The event is unique because it is a great space of freedom. As with any freedom, we must respect that of others, that's our niche. The big challenge is managing the team and the moments when things go off in all directions, because you quickly get carried away by the happiness, the sharing, and the passion... The show has to start on time and end on time. These are good problems! We try to ensure that everyone flourishes within a defined framework. Some people's freedom ends where others' begins. But some people's freedoms often mix with others'. Every moment, in every universe of the evening, must be a special and unforgettable moment. We really want people to meet and mingle. People passionate about football, music, and humor for a positive, caring event, all together.

There was talk of relocating the show to different regions and then abroad. Names like Dubai, Belgium, Morocco, Canada, and many other countries have been leaked. What's the status?
Smail Bouabdellah: In terms of the project, we still want to solidify what we're implementing in Paris and in France. Always do better. But we're open to any opportunity because we love it and we want to open Mosaïc and share our values. But indeed, we're in demand. So we're preparing to grow, by thinking about everything. Cities, regions, other countries on different continents. We'll move forward little by little. It's important to feel that our values are shared by many around the world and within the French-speaking community.
