Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the document outlining US security guarantees for Ukraine would be finalized in coordination with the US president. Donald Trumpas diplomatic discussions intensify around a possible settlement of the conflict with Russia.

Speaking to the press, Zelensky indicated that this document was a key element of the future security framework sought by Kyiv, aimed at deterring any further aggression after the war. According to him, American guarantees are expected to play a central role alongside the commitments made by European allies.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that Ukrainian and American teams were already working on the content of the text, which is expected to define the nature of Washington's long-term military, political, and economic support. He clarified that the final decisions would rest with the heads of state, suggesting that direct approval from Trump would be necessary.

This announcement comes as Ukraine seeks firm assurances from its Western partners, amid growing talk of a peace agreement driven by the United States. Kyiv fears that a ceasefire or a poorly framed agreement could pave the way for a resumption of hostilities in the medium term.

For its part, the US administration has not yet publicly detailed the exact scope of the safeguards under consideration. However, US officials have reiterated that any security architecture should take into account the strategic interests of the United States and its allies, while avoiding automatic direct military engagement.

Zelensky finally insisted that these guarantees would not only aim to protect Ukraine, but also to strengthen the stability of the entire European continent, believing that the security of his country remained inseparable from that of its Western partners.
