Government reshuffle: announcement postponed until next week

The cabinet reshuffle is not expected before the middle of next week, according to sources within the government. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu is reportedly waiting for the outcome of a potential no-confidence motion tabled by the National Rally, out of respect for Parliament.

The National Rally (RN) plans to submit a motion on Monday concerning the energy roadmap recently established by decree, denouncing it as a "power grab." If the motion is placed on the agenda, it could be examined on Wednesday, which would delay any announcement regarding the composition of the government.

Several departures expected

At least three ministers are expected to leave: Rachida Dati, a candidate for mayor of Paris; Amélie de Montchalin, slated to join the Court of Auditors; and Charlotte Parmentier-Lecocq, who hopes to reclaim her seat in Parliament. With Amélie de Montchalin's appointment expected soon, a technical adjustment could be formalized as early as Sunday.

For the Budget post, the name of the Minister Delegate for the Civil Service, David Amiel, is circulating widely. Other decisions are still pending, particularly at the Ministry of Culture, where several candidates are being considered to succeed Rachida Dati.
