Apple made a big splash at its 2025 keynote. In front of an eager audience, the Apple brand unveiled the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro, featuring revamped power, battery life, and photography. With a revamped design as a bonus, Apple is redefining the standards for high-end smartphones.
iPhone 17: performance, endurance and new generation selfies
The new iPhone 17 stands out with its 6,3-inch Super Retina XDR display, now capable of record brightness, ideal for outdoors and HDR video. Thanks to 120 Hz ProMotion technology, fluidity is guaranteed, whether for gaming or browsing. Protected by the new Ceramic Shield 2, the smartphone gains in robustness while significantly reducing reflections.
Under the hood, the A19 chip marks a major step forward with a 3nm process offering more power and optimized energy management. Battery life climbs to 30 hours of video playback, a record for a standard model. But the real surprise comes from the front camera called “Center Stage”: an 18-megapixel sensor that tracks movements in real time and allows filming in stabilized 4K HDR, perfect for content creators and video calls.
iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: The Future of Mobile Photography
Apple reserves its most spectacular innovations for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Their redesigned camera module, featuring a full-width camera module, radically changes the look of the device. Each lens now boasts 48 megapixels, including the telephoto lens, which offers up to 8x optical zoom—enough to rival professional cameras.
Power comes courtesy of the A19 Pro chip, backed by a vapor chamber cooling system, ensuring peak performance even during intensive uses like augmented reality gaming. Battery life reaches a historic milestone: up to 39 hours of video playback for the Pro Max, making it the longest-lasting smartphone Apple has ever made.
Production now focused on India
Beyond technological innovations, Apple has confirmed that the entire iPhone 17 lineup will be manufactured in India, in partnership with Foxconn and Tata. This strategic decision aims to reduce dependence on China while consolidating India's position as a global technology manufacturing hub. This development could also impact international price stability.
