On a trip to the 131st National Congress of French Firefighters in Le Mans this Friday, October 10, the outgoing Interior Minister, Bruno Retailleau, hinted that he was living out his final hours at Place Beauvau. "There are coincidences in life: I began the mandate of Interior Minister entrusted to me here, alongside Michel Barnier, and I will conclude my duties with this other congress in Le Mans," he declared, to applause.
“He was terribly disappointing,” says Marine Le Pen
After his speech, Bruno Retailleau received a symbolic firefighter's helmet, before joking: "I'll really need it!" He then headed back to Paris, where he is currently attending the meeting called by Emmanuel Macron with party leaders, excluding the RN and LFI. Shortly after, Marine Le Pen, also present in Le Mans, did not mince her words: "He has not been good in the missions entrusted to him, he has been terribly disappointing," she declared. The President of the Republic is expected to announce the name of the new Prime Minister before Friday evening in an attempt to end an unprecedented political crisis.
