In Taverny, in the Val-d'Oise region, Florence Portelli is preparing a political meeting for June that resembles a wake-up call: to discuss ideas before counting points. Re-elected mayor in the first round, the LR (Les Républicains) candidate wants to bring together several figures from the right and center who already have their sights set on 2027. Her stated objective is to "move beyond petty squabbles" and establish a discussion focused on proposals, far removed from the sound bites and internal conflicts that are tiring voters.

A local scene for a national ambition

The event, conceived in a format inspired by the Medef (French Business Confederation) meetings, is intended to cover a broad range of themes—ecology, education, culture, independence, justice, and social justice—promising a "presentation of ideas" rather than a free-for-all. According to published information, Xavier Bertrand, David Lisnard, and Édouard Philippe have reportedly given their agreement in principle, without a formal announcement at this stage, while the invitation could be extended to other figures such as Gabriel Attal, Dominique de Villepin, or Bruno Retailleau. Behind the method, a subtle concern is surfacing: to avoid the debate being reduced too quickly to a primary and opinion polls, and above all, to avert the specter of a runoff between the National Rally and La France Insoumise (LFI), a sign of a country divided in two, at a time when the post-Macron era is already sharpening rivalries and ambitions.
