Paris Saint-Germain officially announced the signing of Maghnes Akliouche on Thursday. The 24-year-old right winger leaves AS Monaco and signs a five-year contract with the Parisian club, running until June 2031. The transfer fee is €50 million. This is PSG's second summer signing, as they accelerate their transfer activity after several weeks of negotiations with Monaco. The Principality club demanded this sum to release their player. Paris made several offers before accepting Monaco's demands. The initial Parisian offer was estimated at around €25 million, half the amount ultimately paid.
Akliouche arrives to replace Lee Kang-in
In the Paris Saint-Germain squad, Maghnes Akliouche is expected to fill the void left by Lee Kang-in's departure. The South Korean international joined Atlético Madrid during this transfer window. A versatile attacking player, Akliouche can play on the right wing, centrally, or in a freer role behind the striker. His technical ability, his dribbling skills, and his Ligue 1 experience convinced the PSG management to invest €50 million in him. The Frenchman joins an already well-stocked attacking lineup. He will have to earn his place in a team that enters the new season as the reigning two-time European champions.
139 matches and 23 goals with Monaco
Trained at AS Monaco, Maghnes Akliouche will be joining the second professional club of his career. He has played 139 matches for Monaco over the past five seasons, scoring 23 goals. Having become a regular starter during his last two years at the club, he has gradually established himself as one of the squad's most important players. His performances have also earned him a call-up to the French national team. Akliouche made his debut for Les Bleus in the autumn of 2025, in a 2-0 victory against Ukraine. Selected for the 2026 World Cup, he came on as a substitute in the second group stage match, a 3-0 win against Iraq.
PSG are also getting closer to Zion Suzuki
Following the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche, Paris Saint-Germain is continuing its efforts to recruit Zion Suzuki. The Japanese international goalkeeper from Parma is the subject of advanced negotiations for a transfer estimated at €35 million. An agreement between the various parties is now reportedly close. PSG wants to strengthen its goalkeeping position and is pursuing this deal alongside its other transfer targets.
Open discussions for Mika Godts
The Parisian club is also working on a deal for Mika Godts. Discussions have taken place with Ajax Amsterdam regarding the Belgian winger, but no final agreement has been reached at this stage. With Akliouche already signed, Suzuki close to joining Paris, and Godts still a target, PSG is entering a new phase of its transfer window. The capital club now wants to finalize several deals before the resumption of competitions.
