Paris Saint-Germain perfectly kicked off its 2026-2027 Champions League campaign. The two-time reigning European champions dominated Slovan Bratislava 6-1 this Wednesday evening at Parc des Princes. Ousmane Dembélé scored a brace, Ferran Torres a hat-trick, and Fabian Ruiz completed the offensive showcase.
PSG has started its quest for a third consecutive Champions League title well. For their debut match, Paris left no room for suspense.
Dembélé puts Paris on track within six minutes
PSG quickly took control of the ball and finally broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring and gave the Parisians the lead.
Six minutes later, the French forward struck again. In the 23rd minute, Dembélé scored his second goal, allowing PSG to lead 2-0.
The 2025 Ballon d’Or thus starts his new European campaign with a brace.
Ferran Torres continues and nets a hat-trick
Slovan Bratislava fails to slow down Parisian attacks. In the 31st minute, Ferran Torres scored PSG’s third goal. Paris led 3-0 and went into halftime with a very comfortable advantage.
After the break, PSG immediately resumed attacking. In the 47th minute, Ferran Torres scored a second time, bringing the score to 4-0.
The Spaniard didn’t stop there. In the 57th minute, he found the net again to complete his hat-trick. In 26 minutes, the forward signed this summer by PSG scored three goals and allowed Paris to lead 5-0.
After his brace scored against Rennes in his Ligue 1 debut, Ferran Torres confirms his excellent start in the Parisian jersey.
Slovan reduces the score, Fabian Ruiz seals the festival
Two minutes after Paris’ fifth goal, Slovan Bratislava saved some pride. In the 59th minute, Suleiman Camara beat PSG’s defense and reduced the score to 5-1.
This goal did not change the match’s scenario. Paris maintained a very large lead and continued to push until the final minutes.
In the 88th minute, Fabian Ruiz also got his name on the scoreboard. The Spanish midfielder scored PSG’s sixth goal, fixing the score at 6-1.
The two-time European champions start with a demonstration
After their European titles in 2025 and 2026, PSG begins its new campaign with a big win. Six goals, three different scorers, and a +5 goal difference on the first matchday: Paris immediately takes three points in this new league phase.
Ousmane Dembélé scored a brace, Ferran Torres achieved a hat-trick, and Fabian Ruiz closed the scoring. A few months after the second consecutive European title, the Parisians had already expressed their ambition to achieve a historic treble. Dembélé notably told supporters: “We’re coming back next year for the third.”
The start of this new European adventure couldn’t have been more spectacular: PSG opens its Champions League with a 6-1 victory at Parc des Princes.
PSG will return to the Champions League on October 14 with an away match at Manchester City, before hosting FC Barcelona at Parc des Princes six days later, on October 20.
