Pierre Sage has decided to leave RC Lens. The coach informed the club's management of his intention to depart, one year after taking over as manager. He is under contract until 2028.

A full season before departure

The coach is coming off a historic season with Lens: second in Ligue 1, qualification for the Champions League, victory in the Coupe de France and the UNFP trophy for best coach in Ligue 1.

Heading to Crystal Palace?

Crystal Palace are in talks with Pierre Sage to become their new manager. The English club are looking for a successor to Oliver Glasner and have placed the Frenchman among their top targets. Crystal Palace are not alone in their pursuit. Pierre Sage is also attracting interest from other clubs after his season with Lens. No signing has yet been officially announced.

Lens faces an urgent matter

Lens now has to manage the departure of its coach and prepare for the future on the bench. Pierre Sage's desired exit comes at a bad time, as the club also needs to build its squad for the Champions League.
