The reception took place after a day of celebrations in the capital, which included a parade of the players on the Champ de Mars in front of tens of thousands of fans before their arrival at the presidential palace.

In front of the Parisian players gathered at the Élysée Palace, Emmanuel Macron praised PSG's sporting achievement: "You kept us on the edge of our seats until the very last second."the head of state declared, adding: "We were thrilled with you."

Emmanuel Macron had already congratulated PSG on Saturday evening, in a message published after the final whistle. "A new star shines on Paris! Congratulations to PSG, who are making all of Europe dream. France is proud.", the head of state had written.
Macron also condemns the violence
The head of state also addressed the incidents that occurred on Saturday night into Sunday morning during the celebrations of the title, in Paris and several other French cities. Emmanuel Macron praised "all of our law enforcement forces" and denounced "Unacceptable scenes of violence." He concluded firmly: "We don't want to see that anymore, it's over."
The reception for PSG at the Élysée Palace was therefore a mix of sporting congratulations and a reminder of the rules, even though the club was absolutely not responsible for the disturbances…
