Liverpool and PSG on the verge of an agreement
The two clubs' positions have gradually converged. PSG initially set particularly high demands for a player still under contract until June 2028. Liverpool, determined to sign the former Lyon player, held numerous discussions to reach a formula acceptable to Paris. An initial proposal was rejected, and the English club then prepared a much more substantial offer. Discussions now center on a deal exceeding €140 million, including bonuses. The deal has seen a decisive acceleration in recent hours. Negotiations focus in particular on the breakdown between the fixed fee and the various bonuses. At this stage, the transfer is not yet officially signed, but the two clubs are now close enough for an agreement to be reached very quickly.
A five-year contract awaits Barcola
Liverpool have also made progress with Bradley Barcola regarding the terms of his move to England. The French forward is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Reds if the final agreement between the clubs is completed. The player has made Liverpool his preferred destination, and his desire to join the Premier League has been a significant factor in the progress of negotiations. At 23, Barcola is thus preparing to take another considerable step in his career. Having arrived at PSG in 2023 from Olympique Lyonnais, the French international has gradually established himself as one of the Parisian club's key attacking players. His speed, his ability to beat defenders, and his versatility on the wings convinced Liverpool to spend an exceptional sum to acquire him.
PSG had long set the bar very high
Paris Saint-Germain, however, had no intention of easily letting go of their striker. At the start of negotiations, figures as high as €160 or €170 million were mentioned to truly open the door to a departure. Liverpool initially presented an offer far below these demands, which was immediately rejected. Discussions, however, never broke down. PSG gradually softened their stance while Liverpool increased their offer. In recent days, the €140 million mark had become the threshold around which the two clubs could consider reaching an agreement. Bonuses are expected to push the final deal above this amount.
Barcola had chosen Liverpool
The player's wishes also clarified the situation. Barcola wants to join Liverpool, and PSG has agreed in principle to his departure, provided they receive the asking price. The French winger hasn't featured in PSG's recent matches while his future was being negotiated. Liverpool, for its part, wants to significantly strengthen its wings and sees Barcola as a signing capable of immediately becoming a key player in its attack. The Reds have therefore decided to go to great lengths financially to convince PSG.

If the deal goes through on the terms currently being negotiated, Bradley Barcola will leave Paris three years after arriving in the capital. PSG paid around €50 million, including bonuses, to sign him from Lyon in 2023. A sale exceeding €140 million would therefore represent a considerable profit.
