Vosges: A body was found in a river during the search for a missing person

A body was discovered Friday in the Madon River in the Vosges Mountains during a search organized to find a young man who had been missing since early April. According to the Épinal prosecutor's office, it is "very likely" that of the missing man, who was in his twenties.

The body was found late in the day, hidden under branches, near the town of Légéville-et-Bonfays, not far from the establishment where the young man had last been seen. Initial findings revealed no signs of restraint.

A disappearance that occurred after a turbulent evening

The young man disappeared during the night of April 3-4 after leaving a nightclub where several altercations had been reported. Following these incidents, he left the scene on foot, abandoning his vehicle.

An investigation into a worrying disappearance was opened immediately, but yielded no results until this discovery. An autopsy has been ordered to confirm the identity of the body and determine the cause of death.
