A man was arrested after a fatal brawl near Mulhouse train station.

A murder investigation has been opened in Mulhouse following the death of a 50-year-old man stabbed to death Wednesday evening during a fight near the train station. The prosecutor's office announced that a first suspect has been arrested while a second individual is still being sought.

According to prosecutor Nicolas Heitz, a passerby alerted the police after witnessing an altercation involving three people. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the victim on the ground, suffering from severe chest injuries. Despite receiving medical attention, the man died in the hospital from his injuries.

A second suspect is still being sought

The first suspect, aged 49, was arrested shortly after the incident not far from the scene of the crime. According to the prosecutor's office, he was intoxicated at the time of his arrest and may have struck the victim while she was already on the ground.

Investigators are now searching for a second man who reportedly fled on a bicycle after the attack. The exact circumstances of the fight and its possible motive remain unknown at this stage. The investigation has been handed over to the local criminal investigation department.
