It was a family alert that led emergency services to the tragedy. Worried about not having heard from her nephew for several days, a woman called emergency services Monday evening after spotting the 30-year-old's vehicle parked in front of a house in the Franc-Moisin – Bel-Air neighborhood of Saint-Denis. Firefighters dispatched to the scene were met with the homeowner's refusal to open the door. Called in as backup, police discovered human remains laid out on a plastic sheet and placed in various containers.
The landlord, quickly taken into custody, confessed. He reportedly killed his tenant following a dispute the previous week, before dismembering the body. The investigation, entrusted to the relevant authorities, also revealed that the man was carrying an identity document that did not belong to him.
A search has been launched to find the person whose identity had been stolen, adding another dimension to an already particularly dark case.
The precise motive for the murder remains to be established, with investigators now focusing on reconstructing the sequence of events and formally confirming the victim's identity.
