In this autobiographical account, Gisèle Pélicot, now 73 years old, recounts the rapes she claims to have suffered over several years, allegedly orchestrated by her ex-husband Dominique Pélicot with numerous other men. She also describes the trial that took place before the Avignon criminal court and received extensive media coverage.

Gisèle Pélicot's story could also be adapted for the screen. Discussions have reportedly taken place between the author and representatives of the American network HBO regarding a potential adaptation of her book. The adaptation rights are said to have been the subject of competition among several platforms, including HBO and Netflix.
