Heavy sentences have been requested for several defendants in the trial related to a double murder linked to drug trafficking, including two alleged leaders of the DZ Mafia. The prosecutor has requested life imprisonment with a minimum term of 22 years for Gabriel Ory, and 18 years in prison for Amine Oualane.

Other significant sentences were also requested, including life imprisonment for the alleged masterminds and 30 years in prison for the shooter and his accomplice. The events date back to 2019, when two men were found dead in a hotel room near Marseille, one of them linked to drug trafficking.

A trial marked by issues related to drug trafficking

The defendants are suspected of having played a central role in the planning or execution of this double murder, in a context of rivalries between criminal networks. One of the victims is considered a direct target, while the other appears to be a collateral victim.

During her closing argument, the prosecutor emphasized the need to reiterate that the defendants must be held accountable for their actions like any other citizen. She also underscored the seriousness of the crimes and the violence associated with criminal activities linked to drug trafficking, calling for a firm judicial response.
