Bobigny: A man armed with knives was shot dead by a police officer during an intervention

A man armed with two knives was killed Saturday in Bobigny, Seine-Saint-Denis, after threatening police officers who responded to a dispute between neighbors. The incident occurred around midday, and an investigation has been launched to determine the precise circumstances of the tragedy.

According to the Paris police headquarters, officers were called to intervene in a neighborhood dispute. Upon arrival, they were confronted by a particularly aggressive man, armed with two knives and behaving in a threatening manner.

An investigation has been opened into the use of the weapon.

According to initial reports from authorities, the individual also injured two of his neighbors before emergency services arrived. As he approached the three police officers present, one of the officers used his service weapon in an attempt to neutralize the threat.

Shot in the abdomen, the man was immediately attended to by emergency services. Despite the rapid intervention of the SAMU (Emergency Medical Service), he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

As is standard procedure in this type of case, the exact circumstances of the police officer's use of the weapon will be investigated. Investigators will need to establish the precise sequence of events during the intervention and confirm the conditions under which law enforcement officers encountered this armed threat.
