It was a scene of devastation that the teams at Forlì airport discovered on August 23, 2026. Winds reaching some 120 km/h swept through this city in Emilia-Romagna, in northern Italy, with enough force to move and overturn four light aircraft parked on the tarmac.
Faced with the severe weather conditions, airport authorities announced the temporary closure of the airport, which lasted approximately one hour before the situation allowed operations to resume.
No injuries were immediately reported. Material damage was limited to the aircraft hit by the gusts of wind.
