A coalition of about twenty predominantly Democratic states has filed a lawsuit to block the implementation of the presidential decree restricting the use of mail-in voting, a few days after the Supreme Court lifted an initial injunction that partially suspended its execution.

Legal challenges are mounting against the Trump administration's policy on mail-in voting. Around twenty states have filed lawsuits to prevent the US Postal Service from implementing the presidential order, which aims to more strictly regulate mail-in voting.

This class action lawsuit comes at a particularly sensitive time: the Supreme Court had just lifted one of the injunctions blocking part of the decree, paving the way for its partial implementation. The applicant states intend to obtain a further suspension through the courts before the contested provisions take effect.

In other news, another event marked Tuesday: a US military strike in the Caribbean killed four people aboard a vessel suspected of drug trafficking. The US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) confirmed the operation in a message posted on the X network, specifying that the targeted vessel "was operating along established drug trafficking routes in the Caribbean."
