Vincent Lagaf ' is making a big comeback on the small screen. More than 20 years after the famous game was stopped The Bigdil On TF1, the 65-year-old presenter is back in action, this time on RMC Stories. The opportunity for him to express his indignation at today's mentalities.
In an interview with TV Magazine, the host indeed returned to the evolution of the television landscape, recognizing that certain new rules, in particular those linked to “politically correct”, pose a problem for him.
Lagaf' thus declared:
“Today, if you take on an Arab accent, you are racist! But not if you take on a Quebec accent. And that is terribly racist!” “I think people want someone who is not politically correct and is just a crazy dog.”
The presenter then confided that he had been censored during the first filming for RMC Story:
“The first show we shot was 100% Lagaf. But Antoine Henriquet, the producer, came to see me and told me that he was going to have to cut a lot.”
For Lagaf', imitating an accent was never a racist attack, but rather a humorous homage, a habit he claims:
“When I do a Portuguese accent, I'm not making fun of the Portuguese, that's what I've been doing for 40 years. I stopped watching TV but I haven't changed. So I force myself to change because I don't want to hear guys who are lacking recognition shitting on me."
