Season 17 of Top Chef concluded Wednesday night on M6 with Viviana Pisacane's victory. The 28-year-old Italian chef triumphed over Alexy Algar-Denos in a final held at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. She succeeds Quentin Mauro, winner of the previous season.
For this final challenge, the two finalists had to create a complete menu consisting of a starter, a main course, and a dessert, to be tasted by the jury's chefs as well as one hundred Red Cross volunteers. Accompanied by Hélène Darroze, Viviana Pisacane won over the judges with her refined cuisine inspired by her Neapolitan roots and her experience in several Michelin-starred European establishments.
Facing her was Alexy Algar-Denos, supported by Glenn Viel, who was considered the clear favorite after a remarkably consistent performance throughout the competition. The 27-year-old Catalan chef distinguished himself by winning several key challenges and establishing a culinary identity deeply rooted in the products of his region.
This victory allows Viviana Pisacane to become only the fourth woman to have her name inscribed on the Top Chef winners list after Stéphanie Le Quellec, Naoëlle d'Hainaut and Louise Bourrat.
