After a disruptive Friday, calm is gradually returning to much of the country this Saturday, March 29, according to forecasts from La Chaîne Météo. While the skies are clearing in the northwest, the southeast remains in the grip of a particularly violent mistral and tramontane wind, reaching 110 km/h locally. Temperatures remain cool, fluctuating between 10°C and 17°C.

At daybreak, temperatures will range from 3°C to 12°C from north to south, with clear skies in the west and more overcast skies in the east. Snowfall is expected from 900 meters in the Alps and Pyrenees, with up to 15 cm in the resorts. Wind is the main threat today, with gusts exceeding 100 km/h in the Rhône Valley, Aude, and the Gulf of Lion. Thunderstorms could also affect the Côte d'Azur.

Brighter afternoon in the west, caution in the south

In the afternoon, sunny spells will prevail over a large northwest quarter, with a cooler atmosphere. However, the windstorm persists in the southeast, making conditions difficult, particularly at sea and on the coasts. The center-east remains under clouds with a few residual flakes in the mid-mountains. Highs will reach 17°C in Nice, compared to only 11°C in Cherbourg. In the evening, the wind will remain strong in the southeast while the sky will clear elsewhere. On Sunday, the north of the country will once again be under clouds, before the return of more stable, spring-like weather for next week.
