" We are ready ". This is what the president of the National Rally, Jordan Bardella, said in the event of an absolute majority and a government of national unity. From the economy to health, including education and diplomacy, he presented his roadmap on June 24 during a press conference awaited by journalists and politicians.
- School : restoration of authority
In terms of national education, Jordan Bardella pleads for “a school of requirements” and hopes for a “big bang of authority” from the start of the school year in September : ban on mobile phones for students, including in high school; compulsory registration of teachers; continued experimentation with the uniform. ; end of the single college and the establishment of a “modular” college to promote technical and manual paths.
- Regulate immigration and convince Emmanuel Macron to organize a referendum
Removal of land law, expulsion of foreign delinquents, increase in the detention period of the CRA (administrative detention center)… on the immigration side, Jordan Bardella especially hopes to “convince” Emmanuel Macron of the holding of a referendum, in order to register these measures in the Constitution.
- Taxes and demographic support
While France is experiencing a serious demographic winter and the generation renewal threshold is no longer assured, Jordan Bardella announces “a full tax share for the second child”.
On the tax side, he wants to “remove taxes on direct inheritances for low-income families and the middle classes” and exempt from taxes donations from parents to their children or from grandparents to their grandchildren, “up to 100.000 euros per child every ten years”, taking up a theme dear to his occasional ally Éric Ciotti.
- General statements of the economy
In the event of victory on July 7, the National Rally will convene a general meeting of the economy in the fall. The objective? Make France a “country of producers” again. A regulatory break on “European overtranspositions” would be decreed for “normative sobriety”.
In addition, a major “eating French” plan would be created to achieve 80% French products in school canteens by 2027. The RN wishes to generalize “labelling the origin and quality of food products to allow our compatriots to consume French food if they wish and to do so in complete transparency to face unfair international competition”.
On the salary side, the president of the RN defends increases temporarily exempt from employer contributions, with “the possibility, for companies, of increasing salaries without weighing on labor costs and competitiveness”. These increases would concern employees earning up to three times the minimum wage and could reach 10%, “without employer contributions for five years”.
- Energy: strengthening nuclear power
Asked about renewable energies, Jordan Bardella specified that he wanted to “strengthen our nuclear fleet”. “The idea is not to stop intermittent energies, but to make nuclear power a major, fundamental, structuring element of the energy mix again.” He offers a moratorium on new wind turbine projects, but specifies that it does not want to dismantle those already installed.
- Health: putting an end to medical deserts
While medical deserts are increasing in France, Jordan Bardella wants to develop financial incentives to fight against this scourge. Among the tracks, doctors and nurses who are now retired and going to deserted areas could, for example, see their income tax eliminated.
- Diplomacy, army, senior civil service: protecting yourself from interference
On the diplomacy and army side, the National Rally confirms that the most strategic positions in the State will be reserved for the French. “There are strategic positions linked to the security or defense sectors which are by definition strategic sectors and reserve them for French citizens.”
“It is also one way among others to protect yourself from attempts at interference which could be orchestrated by foreign States with regard to the interests of French interests.
Deleted by Emmanuel Macron by a decree of April 2022, the diplomatic and prefectural corps would also be reestablished.
- No two-state solution for Palestine
If the National Rally first espoused the French two-state position for Israel-Palestine, “This position is obsolete by the atrocities and attacks by Hamas on October 7. Recognizing a Palestinian state would be recognizing terrorism ».
“I will be a shield for our Jewish compatriots, in the face of an Islamism which no longer only wants to separate from the Republic, but to conquer it”, adds the party leader.
- Overseas: a ministry in its own right
For Overseas, Jordan Bardella intends to establish a Ministry of State. A decision which should delight André Rougé, overseas leader for the National Rally and just re-elected MEP.
Concerning New Caledonia, Jordan Bardella recalls his position in favor of thawing the electoral body and a restoration of order without which “nothing [can] be built”.
So, Bardella, Mélenchon or Attal Prime Minister?
If Jordan Bardella declares himself ready to take on his role as Prime Minister, Jean-Luc Mélenchon is not left out. The candidates from the three majority blocks will be received on the M6 news, respectively this Monday for Bardella, Thursday for Mélenchon and Friday for Gabriel Attal.
