Germany is renewing its efforts to acquire American Tomahawk missiles

Germany has relaunched talks with the United States to obtain Tomahawk cruise missiles and Typhoon ground launchers, according to a Financial Times article cited by Reuters.

Berlin hopes to convince the president's administration Donald Trump to authorize this strategic sale, in a context of persistent security tensions in Europe and accelerated rearmament of several European countries.

Tomahawk missiles, widely used by the US armed forces, are capable of striking long-range targets with high precision. Typhon launchers, in particular, allow for their deployment from ground platforms.

This initiative is part of Germany's efforts to strengthen its military capabilities and strategic autonomy within NATO, as the war in Ukraine continues to fuel security concerns on the European continent.
