Military employment: the State strengthens civilian recruitment for defense

Faced with the soaring demand for labor in the arms and military equipment sectors, France Travail will launch a national recruitment agency dedicated to the defense industry. A key feature of this new initiative is that it will be led by a general officer, ensuring better communication with the armed forces and former military personnel undergoing career transitions.

According to the Minister of Labour, Jean-Pierre Farandou, the sector must absorb "tens of thousands" of new jobs in the coming years, including 10,000 in the Var region alone by 2030. The objective is to anticipate this increase in workload by centralizing the identification of skills, the guidance of candidates and the link with manufacturers.

A national task force under military leadership

This specialized unit, operational by the end of April, will work with the Directorate General of Armaments, the armed forces, professional federations, and major industry groups, as well as with subcontracting SMEs that often face recruitment difficulties. France Travail specifies that this is a model already proven in other strategic sectors, such as nuclear energy.

A major event is planned for April 23 in Toulon, with the simultaneous online publication of over 5,000 job offers from across the country. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to treating the defense industry as a top industrial and social priority, on par with major energy transitions.
