It is a real rebound in the case of the little one Émile. Two unknown DNAs were discovered on the bones and clothes of the little boy, who disappeared in July 2023 in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. These genetic traces, described as "foreign" to the family, intrigue investigators. An in-depth analysis is underway to try to identify this DNA using the National Genetic Fingerprint File (FNAEG).
If no match is found, authorities could request DNA samples from residents of the hamlet where the child disappeared.
The prosecutor of Aix-en-Provence recalled the importance of the secrecy of the investigation, stressing the necessary caution in communicating on this case, which still mobilizes around fifteen investigators. The case nevertheless requires a certain caution, in particular because of the natural volatility of DNA and the risks of accidental contamination.
