Urgo reaches the one billion euro mark in revenue and accelerates its investments

The French group Urgo, known particularly for its bandages and healthcare products, has surpassed one billion euros in global revenue for the first time. This symbolic milestone confirms the strong growth of the Burgundy-based family group, which has become one of the leading French players in the medical sector in just a few years.

Present in over 60 countries with approximately 4,000 employees, Urgo has experienced significant international growth thanks to its activities in wound care, medical compression, nutritional supplements, and self-medication. The group also states its intention to accelerate its presence in the United States, where it anticipates growth of nearly 50% over the next two years.

"Made in France" remains at the heart of the strategy

Unlike many pharmaceutical companies, Urgo states that it will maintain a large part of its production in France. The group has announced a €150 million investment plan for 2026 and 2027 aimed at strengthening research, modernizing its factories, and developing its industrial capacity in France.

Nearly 80% of the group's products are now manufactured in France. Several industrial projects are already underway, notably in the Loire region where Urgo is building a new factory specializing in medical compression bandages with an estimated investment of 60 million euros.

A family group that became a healthcare giant

Founded in Burgundy at the end of the 19th century, Urgo has undergone a spectacular transformation over the last twenty-five years. Its turnover has increased from approximately 150 million euros to one billion today, driven by medical innovation as well as several strategic acquisitions in Europe.

The group is now focusing on biotechnology, artificial skin, and innovative medical devices to pursue its global growth. In a context of industrial relocation and healthcare sovereignty, Urgo also seeks to embody the model of a French manufacturer capable of remaining competitive while maintaining strong national roots.
