The Eau Thermale Avène brand is pushing Laboratoires Pierre Fabre to accelerate its production

Pierre Fabre Laboratories has announced a major expansion project for its Avène plant in the Hérault region of France, in order to meet the strong global growth of its Eau Thermale Avène brand, particularly in China and the United States. The group plans to double the site's production capacity by 2029.

The factory, located near the Avène thermal spring in the Cévennes mountains, will increase its production from 100 million to 200 million units per year. This expansion will require an investment of 50 million euros to enlarge and modernize the site's industrial facilities.

A strategic investment to strengthen production

This operation is part of a larger industrial program of 250 million euros undertaken by Pierre Fabre between 2023 and 2027. The Avène site, which currently employs 330 people, already concentrates the manufacturing, packaging and storage activities of the brand's products.

In 2025, Pierre Fabre Laboratories achieved a turnover of €3,2 billion, 71% of which was generated internationally. Their dermo-cosmetics business grew by 2,6% year-on-year, driven in particular by the performance of the Eau Thermale Avène brand. The group also markets other brands such as Ducray, Klorane, and René Furterer.
