The FNAIM is raising the alarm about the increasing impoverishment of homeownership in France.

Loïc Cantin, president of the National Federation of Real Estate, has issued a warning about the state of the French housing market. The head of the sector's main employers' association denounces a worrying decline in access to homeownership, particularly for younger generations. This warning comes amid rising interest rates and tighter borrowing conditions that have disrupted the market for the past two years.

The energy performance certificate (EPC) is more flexible for rental properties.

The industry representative, however, welcomes a development regarding energy performance certificates. He believes that the now "more realistic" consideration of the EPC in rental criteria represents progress. Proposals expected by 2027

The FNAIM (National Federation of Real Estate Agents) is already laying the groundwork for the 2027 presidential election. Loïc Cantin promises "bold" announcements aimed at breaking the deadlock and facilitating access to homeownership. These proposals come at a time when the real estate sector is going through a turbulent period marked by a drop in transactions and growing concern among professionals regarding the dwindling number of first-time buyers.
