The competition, open nationwide, aims to bolster staffing levels in various overseas territories facing significant challenges related to drug trafficking, fraud, and goods inspections.
Successful candidates may be assigned to Guadeloupe, Martinique, or French Guiana within surveillance, control, or operational units. Enforcement officers participate in customs controls at ports, airports, and along highways, as well as in missions to combat illicit trafficking and smuggling.
Jobs accessible without a high degree
The competition is open to candidates with a middle school diploma or equivalent. The tests generally include written exams, logic exercises, and an oral interview. Customs emphasizes the diversity of the missions offered as well as the career advancement opportunities within the administration.
A campaign to strengthen control measures in France's overseas territories, which are particularly vulnerable to cocaine trafficking between South America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
