Middle East war: more than 3,500 French citizens repatriated

The repatriation of French nationals stranded by the war in the Middle East is accelerating. Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot indicated on Saturday that more than 3,500 French citizens had already been able to return to France thanks to several flights organized or facilitated from the United Arab Emirates.

Guest of the show C to you On France 5, the foreign minister specified that 800 people considered vulnerable had been repatriated on six flights specially chartered by France. Five more flights are still to be organized by Tuesday.

Commercial flights also mobilized

In parallel with these operations, several commercial flights were mobilized to expedite the return of French nationals to Paris. According to Jean-Noël Barrot, one flight was organized on Thursday, five on Friday, and five more on Saturday.

The operation is still ramping up, with six flights scheduled for Sunday and another six on Monday. In total, these flights have already allowed approximately 3,500 French citizens to leave the region and return to France.
