Google and UNICEF have launched a global partnership dedicated to AI-supported education and the development of digital learning infrastructure.
Funded by Google.org, this initiative will initially focus on Brazil, India, Pakistan, and Kenya. The program aims to strengthen reading and math skills, support teachers, and improve access to digital tools in schools.
A program focused on digital education
Google explains that it wants to combine its AI technologies with UNICEF's educational programs to create digital learning systems tailored to local needs. The project includes teacher training, the deployment of educational technologies, and the integration of AI-based tools into classrooms.
Several tools developed by Google, including Gemini, NotebookLM, and ReadAlong, will be used as part of this collaboration. UNICEF specifies that the objective is also to strengthen digital skills, understanding of artificial intelligence, and digital inclusion in regions facing infrastructure limitations.
The two organizations indicated that annual reports will be used to assess the program's results and its potential for expansion to other countries.
