Eurosatory 2026: France bans the exhibition of Israeli offensive weapons

France has decided to ban the display of Israeli offensive weapons at the Eurosatory international defense exhibition, which will be held from June 15 to 19 in Villepinte. This decision, made by the Defense Council, limits the participation of Israeli companies to air and missile defense systems only.

The organizers of the trade show clarified that Israeli exhibitors will be allowed to participate provided they only display defensive equipment. "If an exhibitor also manufactures rockets, they will not be able to show them," explained Charles Beaudouin, president of Coges Events, adding that this rule prevents any ambiguity regarding the nature of the equipment on display.

Israel denounces a "shameful" decision

The Israeli Ministry of Defense reacted strongly, stating that the restriction prevented it from having a national pavilion and showcasing its full industrial capabilities. Tel Aviv denounced the decision as "shameful," believing it to be motivated by political and commercial considerations.

This measure comes amid rising tensions between Paris and Israel. For several months, France has been increasingly critical of Israeli military operations in Lebanon and the Middle East. Just this past Sunday, Paris requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council following the Israeli army's capture of the Beaufort fortress in southern Lebanon.
