Tesla CEO Elon Musk said yesterday (Wednesday) that the car tariffs imposed by the US president Donald Trump have a considerable impact on the company.
Musk added in a post on the "X" platform: "It is important to note that Tesla has not escaped damage... the impact of the tariffs on Tesla remains significant."
Trump announced plans yesterday to impose tariffs of up to 25% on car imports, expanding the scope of the global trade war he reignited upon his return to the White House this year. Auto industry experts predict this will drive up prices and hamper production. He added: "We will impose tariffs of 25% on all cars not made in the United States. We will start with a minimum of 2,5%, which is the current rate, and work our way up to 25%."
