Bloomberg News reported Wednesday that OpenAI is close to finalizing a $40 billion funding round led by SoftBank Group.
The Bloomberg report added that the fundraising round includes investors such as Magnetar Capital, Coatue Management, Founders Fund and Altimeter Capital Management.
Reuters reported in January that SoftBank Group was in talks to lead a fundraising round of up to $40 billion for ChatGPT developer OpenAI, which would imply a valuation of the company of $300 billion, including this new funding.
