A major fire ravaged the K Club, a nightclub located in Kehl, a German town bordering Strasbourg, in the early hours of Sunday morning. The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. in the Sundheim industrial zone and spread very quickly throughout the entire building.
At the time of the fire, approximately 750 people were inside the establishment. According to police, all were successfully evacuated and left the premises. Witnesses interviewed at the scene described a swift and orderly exit, supervised by club staff, without any panic.
The human toll remains limited. Several sources indicated that three people were treated by emergency services for shock caused by the situation, but without serious injury. The city of Kehl later clarified that ultimately no injuries were reported.
Emergency services mobilized significant resources. The city of Kehl reported approximately 80 firefighters on the scene, supported by reinforcements from Offenburg and neighboring municipalities. By late morning, the roof had partially collapsed, and operations were still underway to extinguish remaining hotspots inside the structure.
At this stage, the origin of the fire remains unknown and the extent of the damage has not yet been released. An investigation will now have to determine the exact causes of the blaze that destroyed an address well-known to the border region, particularly Alsace.
