It has just been learned that on February 13th, the home of the parents of actor Gaspard Ulliel (who died in a tragic skiing accident in 2022 at the age of 37), located in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, was the scene of a home invasion of rare violence. Around 9:20 a.m., three men posing as delivery men entered the apartment. As soon as the door was opened, Gaspard Ulliel's father was repeatedly struck and threatened with a hammer. His wife, who was in another room, was unharmed.
A haul worth several hundred thousand euros
The assailants ransacked the entire apartment before leaving with jewelry and luxury watches, estimated to be worth around €250,000. An accomplice is believed to have remained in the common areas to keep watch during the robbery. The exceptionally violent attack lasted several minutes, causing considerable shock in the neighborhood.
Four men arrested
Investigators quickly used CCTV footage and phone data to identify the perpetrators. Four men, aged 18 to 41, were arrested in Paris and the surrounding region. All were charged with armed robbery as part of an organized gang and placed in pretrial detention. The investigation must now determine the degree of premeditation and the possible existence of other accomplices.
An increasingly widespread method
This type of attack, using the appearance of delivery drivers or sales representatives to deceive victims, is part of a resurgence of this modus operandi in France. Criminal gangs use these techniques to break into homes and steal valuables, particularly targeting individuals in large cities.
