While singer Aya Nakamura is expected to perform Edith Piaf during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Eric Naulleau was very violently angry against this choice. Interviewed by several media, including TPMP!, the polemicist revealed the depths of his thoughts without tongue in cheek, affirming:
« It's the shittiest of globalized music, it's the mistreatment of French, it's vulgarity incarnate and autotune. It is for these four reasons that it was chosen, because it is the symbol of collapse and the politics of the worst. She is neither class nor elegance. »
Eric Naulleau continued: “France is the French language and it sings mush! SO it is not representative of France and the message that must be sent. These Olympic Games will be a showcase of our culture and what France represents. the problem is that for years, we have wanted to send a message promoting mediocrity and hatred of excellence, so basically, it makes sense to go and look for her! »
As a reminder, if the possible presence of Aya Nakamura at the Olympics ceremony is strongly contested by some, for his part, the president Emmanuel Macron defended this choice, indicating thatAya Nakamura was one of the most listened to French-speaking artists in the world and she spoke " really many of our compatriots. »
