World Cup: USA qualifies, Brazil takes the lead, Morocco survives

The United States defeated Australia 2-0 in Group D. The Americans opened the scoring in the 11th minute with an own goal by Cameron Burgess, who was forced into an error by Folarin Balogun. Alex Freeman doubled the lead in the 43rd minute with a header that was ultimately awarded after a VAR review. The United States has six points after two matches and has qualified for the round of 6. Australia remains under pressure before its final group match against Paraguay.

Morocco defeats Scotland

In Group C, Morocco defeated Scotland 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by Ismael Saibari in the 2nd minute, after approximately 70 seconds of play. It is currently the fastest goal of this World Cup. The Scots then tried to come back, but were unable to equalize. Morocco moves up to 4 points and remains in direct qualification contention. Scotland remains on 3 points and will fight for its survival in the final match against Brazil.  

Brazil crushes Haiti and moves ahead

Brazil dominated Haiti 3-0 in Group C. Matheus Cunha scored twice, in the 23rd and 36th minutes. Vinícius Júnior added the third goal in first-half stoppage time, in the 45th+3 minute. With this victory, Brazil, who lost Raphinha to injury, joins Morocco on four points, but takes the lead in Group C thanks to a superior goal difference. Haiti, defeated for the second time in two matches, remains last with zero points and becomes the first team eliminated from the World Cup.
