Tunisia has already been eliminated from the World Cup. Beaten 4-0 by Japan in their second Group F match, the Eagles of Carthage exit the competition in the group stage. After an initial defeat against Sweden, the Tunisians absolutely had to react. Instead, they collapsed against a stronger, faster, and more efficient Japanese team. With two losses in two matches, no points, and a goal difference of -8, the verdict is final.

Japan strikes from the outset

Japan quickly took control of the match. In the 4th minute, Daichi Kamada opened the scoring, immediately putting Tunisia under pressure. The Eagles of Carthage struggled to respond. The Tunisian defense retreated, their passing lacked precision, and Japan dictated the tempo. In the 31st minute, Ayase Ueda doubled the lead. Tunisia were down 2-0 and unable to find a way back into the game.

Tunisia does not react

In the second half, Tunisia tried to make some changes, but the pattern remained the same. Japan controlled the game, accelerated when needed, and exploited the spaces. In the 69th minute, Junya Ito scored Japan's third goal. Tunisia was then virtually doomed. In the 83rd minute, Ayase Ueda scored again, completing his brace. Japan won 4-0.

Hervé Renard begins with a slap

This match marked Hervé Renard's first game in charge of the Tunisian national team. The new coach, who replaced Sabri Lamouchi, began his tenure with a heavy defeat. Unsurprisingly, the coaching change did not produce any miracles. Tunisia remains fragile, lacks impact, and has never managed to turn things around.

Elimination on the second day

The standings condemn Tunisia. The Netherlands and Japan have 4 points, Sweden has 3, while Tunisia remains stuck on 0 points. Even with one final match to play, the Eagles of Carthage can no longer reach the qualifying spots. Tunisia is therefore eliminated from the World Cup in the group stage, after two matches and two heavy defeats.
