It's a symbolic accolade, but one that's still highly sought after in the entertainment industry. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has unveiled the list of celebrities who will receive their stars on the Walk of Fame in 2026. Among them are several French and international figures from film and music, including Marion Cotillard, Timothée Chalamet, and Franco-Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo.
An international vintage for cinema
Marion Cotillard's name joins a prestigious list celebrating career milestones. Brought to international attention by her Oscar-winning role in La Vie en Rose in 2008, the actress is regularly acclaimed for her roles in French and international productions. Timothée Chalamet, who rose to prominence in Call Me by Your Name and was propelled to global stardom by Dune, embodies a new generation of actors at the crossroads of several cultures—he also has French roots.
Other nominees in the film category include Emily Blunt, Demi Moore, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, Deepika Padukone, and Franco Nero. The awards ceremony will be held in person throughout 2026, on the famous sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.
Angélique Kidjo, first African artist to be honored
Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer Angélique Kidjo will become the first artist from the African continent to receive a star on the Walk of Fame. This recognition celebrates a career built on tireless artistic and political engagement, blending traditional music, Afrobeat, jazz, and pop, with international reach. In the music category, Miley Cyrus, Lyle Lovett, Josh Groban, and The Clark Sisters are also honored.
Television, sport and live entertainment also in the spotlight
On the television side, Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Noah Wyle (ER), and Gordon Ramsay join the list. In the performing arts, musical theater singer Lea Salonga and comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias are also among the winners. And in the sports world, former basketball player Shaquille O'Neal will be making his debut on the legendary star-studded sidewalk.
An opaque but codified selection
The process remains relatively unclear. Each year, approximately 200 applications are submitted, whether from a fan or an agent. For a name to be retained, the artist or their representatives must give their written consent... and commit to funding the star's expenses (approximately $85). From these applications, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce selects about thirty, without any official published criteria.
Some film legends have never accepted this honor, such as Clint Eastwood, Julia Roberts, Denzel Washington, and Brad Pitt. Others have simply been forgotten or never nominated.
With this new wave of accolades, Hollywood continues to combine celebrity, collective memory, and image strategy. For Marion Cotillard, Timothée Chalamet, and Angélique Kidjo, these stars will add further recognition to careers already firmly anchored in global cultural history.
