Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to reprise one of the most iconic roles of his career: Conan the BarbarianMore than 40 years after the release of the first film, the Austrian actor has confirmed he is in talks to participate in a new feature film dedicated to the famous warrior. This news was somewhat unexpected, as the film seems to belong to a different era.

A third film to extend the saga

The project, often called King conanwould be designed as a direct sequel to the films Conan the Barbarian (1982) et Conan the Destroyer (1984). The story would follow an aging Conan, who had been king for several decades, and who must take up arms again to defend or reconquer his kingdom. The idea is to show an older hero, marked by battles and the responsibilities of power.

A project still under development

According to several American media outlets, the film could be developed with director and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, known for his work on the saga Mission: ImpossibleThe project is still in the development phase and no filming or release date has been announced yet.

Schwarzenegger still attached to his character

Arnold Schwarzenegger, now over 70, remains attached to the character who helped launch his international career in the early 1980s. At a recent event, the actor explained that several studios were interested in bringing back the character of Conan, as well as other iconic franchises he has been involved in, such as Predator ou Commando.
