During the Super-G of the Alpine Ski World Cup held this Friday on the Streif slope, Norwegian Adrian Smiseth Sejersted delivered a performance that will remain one of the most memorable scenes of the 2025-2026 season. Starting with bib number 17, Sejersted narrowly avoided disaster a few seconds after the start when he lost his balance approaching the Seidlalmsprung, a particularly technical jump on the course.

Propelled into the air in an almost uncontrollable position, he miraculously managed to regain his balance, land on one ski, and continue his descent without falling. This spectacular maneuver allowed him to cross the finish line in fifth place, an incredible result considering the circumstances.

Marco Odermatt retains his crown in Kitzbühel, Sejersted in the top five

The victory went to Swiss skier Marco Odermatt, who won his second Super-G title in Kitzbühel, narrowly beating his compatriot Franjo von Allmen by just three hundredths of a second. Odermatt, already dominant in the discipline this season, set a benchmark time on this demanding course, highlighting once again his consistency in World Cup speed events.

With this victory, Odermatt strengthens its position at the top of the overall super-G standings and the overall World Cup standings, as the season heads towards the Milano-Cortina Olympic Games.
