New passenger car registrations in France rose by 11,4% in June, with 188.787 vehicles registered, according to figures published Wednesday by the French Automotive Platform (PFA). This increase confirms the market's recovery after several years marked by supply difficulties and slowing demand.

The rebound affects all brands and engine types sold in the country. Despite this renewed momentum, sales volumes remain lower than those observed before the health crisis, as the market has not yet returned to its pre-2020 level.

A still incomplete recovery

Manufacturers and suppliers nevertheless see this growth as a positive sign for the French automotive sector, which continues its recovery month after month. Improved supply chains and the normalization of production are helping to support registrations.

If this trend continues in the coming months, the market could continue its return to normal. However, professionals remain cautious, given the context of the transition to electrified vehicles and demand that is still sensitive to economic conditions.
